EDITORIAL.   after visiting Hiroshima and Nagasaki

ONE MORE DAY OF PEACE... and music

“We will fight for our right to live in freedom” Paul McCartney. Starting writing on the runway in Newark watching 9/11/2001....

War, and killing others, is wrong.... I did not invent that concept... EVERY religion in history is rooted in that concept (and ironically most every religion has been invoked as the cause of wars in our history)

But without freedom there can be no peace.  I do not support war... but understand and support what had to be done in WW2.  If the decision to drop the bombs would not have been made... Cheryl and I would probably not be here....  along with many others... and maybe even freedom itself

But we must learn from our history ... those 2 bombs (2 bombs that led to the deaths of almost 500,000... 310,000 names listed on honor in the archives in Hiroshima and 170,000 at Nagasaki) are the result and epitome of generations of the progression of our ability to kill each other....  ending part of a quote from display in Pearl Harbor says it well...

there is a clock in museum at Nagasaki that is frozen forever in time at 11:02... august 9, 1945

there is another clock in the museum at Hiroshima that counts up days since first atomic bomb  was dropped in war
PIC 4

....and it also counts days since last atomic weapon test in the world.  The mayors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are world ambassadors for peace...
PIC 5
The last test? .... not by some rouge country trying to figure it out... but by a seasoned expert... that has 6000 plus atomic bombs each significantly more deadly than those used in 1945 ready to use...  and has tested 1,054 since using them in 1945 (tests largely ending in 1992 by world wide treaties) ...by the USA.
